Chelsea Clinton had a report published in The Washington Post on Wednesday claiming that cities across the country are facing a wave of crime.
Clinton argued that the increase in crime is “due to irresponsible public safety policies, which have caused steep crime rates to rise across the nation.”
The story claimed that the statistics are supported by data released by the Institute for Justice, a libertarian think tank based in Arlington, Virginia.
But when Eric Watters, a conservative radio host and political strategist, called up the institute, he was told the study it released had no scientific merit.
“The numbers are completely wrong,” he said. “That report doesn’t have any statistical support.”
Watters called around to other cities, and he found that they had been in the study.
“It’s incredibly interesting to me to see a left-wing organization, that was funded, by George Soros, takes a look at crime across the country and then ends up, using statistical analysis, and saying that crime is on the rise in 47 of them,” Watters said.
“And then it has 13 of those cities receiving the most media coverage around crime, all from this organization.”
He explained that Soros only pays for organizations that not only align with his pro-corporate world view, but also support his political donors.
“And the folks that are in favor of illegal immigration?” Watters asked. “They support liberal groups that promote illegal immigration, and these are groups that George Soros was funding.
“So the common thread is they are the same group, and they’re donating to these same groups.”
