Laterche Norris, 20, was last seen at a 7-Eleven near Yosemite on June 18, the Fresno Bee reported. Her family reported her missing after she failed to come home from the 7-Eleven. Her sister said that When the last image was captured of Laterche, she was “disheveled with mud all over her face, no shoe, nothing,” the Fresno Bee reported. Her family reportedly tried to check on Laterche multiple times, but to no avail.
The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department said Laterche is not believed to be in physical danger and there is no further risk to the public, but officials are investigating laterche’s disappearance as a homicide case, according to ABC News.
Laterche’s disappearance raises questions about her well-being and if she is safe, according to a report in BuzzFeed. Laterche’s father, Ian Norris, declined to give interviews to BuzzFeed until laterche is found, however, he told the BuzzFeed reporter that she was injured shortly after leaving a job at Dick’s Sporting Goods. She had been at a 7-Eleven to pick up an asthma inhaler, according to her father. Laterche dropped the inhaler off but did not pay for it, leaving the 7-Eleven without a bill. At that time, she apparently fell unconscious, tearing her skin, according to her father.
Laterche went missing the following day, after which her family began the search. Earlier this week, Modesto police announced that they found her belongings and her cellphone at a neighbor’s house. According to This Is Fresno, Modesto police are treating Laterche’s disappearance as a homicide, but are not revealing any details, which have heightened concerns of Laterche’s safety, according to BuzzFeed.
Earlierche, a first-year math student at Cal State-Fresno, and self-proclaimed socialite, was last seen wearing a black, navy and white Barbour jacket, black leggings and black Adidas sneakers. Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to call 911 or Crime Stoppers at (209) 521-4636.
